VIP
Vulnerable or Impaired Person Enrollment

image001 (1).jpg

Michigan law allows a parent/legal guardian/power of attorney of an individual with special needs to voluntarily provide the Vulnerable or Impaired Person’s (VIP’s) fingerprints and photograph for inclusion in a State of Michigan repository that can be used to assist in identifying the individual learner should he/she become lost in the future or find him/herself in a situation in which he/she cannot identify him/herself.  This allows the responding officer to immediately identify the person they are dealing with and to get the most appropriate assistance for them.  By being in this program, the learner will experience less stress and anxiety in these situations.

The goal of the VIP program is to return VIPs to familiar, safe environments, while maintaining their dignity.

Saturday, September 13th
from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

In cooperation with the Michigan State Police, PARClife would like to offer you the opportunity to work with them to enter your learner’s information into the system for their protection.  The Michigan State Police, along with the Plymouth Township Police Department, will be here at PARC on Saturday, September 13th, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm to complete this process. This is being offered to our learners Free of Charge.  It will take no more than 5 minutes to complete the process with your learner.  The attached paperwork gives you a detailed description of the process, as well as the Enrollment form and instructions for completion by a parent or guardian.

To expedite the process, the Michigan State Police (MSP) have asked that you complete the enrollment form in advance and return it to us so that we can have everything prepared in advance of the enrollment day.  The procedure itself will take place in the Jack Wilcox Theatre at the PARC building.

If you have any questions concerning the program or process, please contact Plymouth Township PD Senior Records Clerk, Glenn Miller at 734-354-3276, or by email at gmiller@plymouthtwppd.org.
